Concave red fungus found growing in beech woods in November at 900 feet above sea level at Birdlip hill near Gloucester England. It looks similar to Orange peel fungus but for colour and enviroment and time of year. Kingdom = Fungi. Phyum=Ascomycota. Speces probably = Sarcoscypha Coccinea (Scop) Lambotte.

The same red fungus was present in some profusion on fallen moss-encrusted timber on 6 March 2009 by the Cotswold Way, also in Witcombe Wood, but about half a mile further on from Birdlip Hill towards Cooper’s Hill.
